It's time to start buying gifts and so naturally I'm only finding stuff I want for myself! I guess I'm in a rainbow mood lately. It must have something to do with the gloomy weather and all the super mean people I've encountered lately. I need color and lots of it. Color makes everything magical, don't you think? Like that horse in the Wizard of Oz. I would like that horse too. And I would like one of these pillows. In fact, I would like all of these pillows. I wouldn't turn away the artwork, couch or rug either. Can this just be my new living room?

Grace Gift Shoes via Wedding Bee

Speaking of large scale wall art...

I have been in love with Sharon Montrose's prints for a few years now. If anyone ever wants to buy me a present, please feel free to order any one of her amazing animal photographs. They are so lovely that it's hard to choose favorites but I've had the Bunny and Flamingo prints bookmarked for some time!

The beauty of these prints is they look good both on their own and in combination, which means they are incredibly versatile. I could see hanging two side by side over my bed or a gallery of 4 in the bathroom or one large print over my couch in the living room. But why stop there? You could line a hallway with the whole collection, going from largest animal to smallest or vice versa. And would it be inappropriate to feature the Ostrich egg in the kitchen? I think not.

I would wear these every day.

I am having an all-consuming love affair with Kimberly Baker's beautiful rose-gold plated astrological sign necklaces. They are so gorgeous and delicate without seeming too gimmicky and I honestly thing I could wear it every day without getting sick of it (unlike my locket or other necklace staples). At $110, its well worth the price!

My other favorite (and trust me, it's hard to choose!) is the Maggie necklace made with two small unicorn horns. So cool, right?

Welcome to my Birthday Month

I keep my spare change in a hideous blue plastic container from Ikea and every time I see it sitting on my desk I silently curse myself for not owning something more attractive. Afterall, I'm pretty sure that plastic container is meant to store leftover pasta and not my life savings. Wouldn't I be more motivated to toss in an extra dollar or two if the container were as nice to look at as this pretty drop bank from Vitrine? I'd like to buy the yellow or teal version and store it on my mantle. Yes, it is mantle-worthy. Buy it folks!

Tea Time

It's a chilly, windy Friday in New York City today and I'm feeling a little under the weather. It's one of those days when I would have gladly chopped off my right arm in exchange for a day spent in bed with a hot mug of tea and It Happened One Night. Often when I am drinking tea at home I like to use my favorite tea cup and saucer which was a gift and just feels fancier and more decadent than my pink 'I heart Lipgloss' mug. Grace over at Design*Sponge featured this reusable mug earlier today and it feels like a happy medium. Plus, it's more fashionable than the chrome version I travel with in the morning.

Kitchen Accessories

My kitchen is woefully under-accessorized. I don't know how I've let that happen. I guess it's because I spend so little time in it. It's mostly like a hallway between my living room and bathroom. It's where I store my liquor and cereal. It's where I keep my mail. It is not where I spend hours slaving over the stove or lovingly preparing meals for my nearest and dearest. In fact, I think my nearest and dearest would probably freak out if I told them I was going to cook for them. They'd think I was trying to poison them. Which I would never do. Duh.

Anyway.

I don't have pretty salt & pepper shakers or a fancy butter dish or even a coveted teapot. Although I do have a pretty awesome teakettle. Here are some finds from Anthropologie (and one from Jonathan Adler) that I've been salivating over for the last ten minutes:
